Certified Welding Inspector

About the role

MANTECH is looking for a motivated Certified Welding Inspector to join its vehicle sustainment team in Erbil, Iraq. The role supports maintenance and logistics for multiple vehicle families worldwide under the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Key responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop electromechanical applications for fabrication and sustainment.
• Review contractor standards, specifications and technical documentation to determine welding and mechanical requirements.
• Design or assess simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation and instrumentation systems.
• Gather and analyze engineering data, perform calculations and simple tests for system upgrades.
• Guide technicians in fabrication and installation to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Inspect welding on ballistic hulls and vehicle components using AWS D1.1 standards and recommend design modifications.
• Review and correct engineering drawings for technical and safety compliance.

Required profile

• 13+ years of experience in welding, inspection or electromechanical systems.
• Valid AWS D1.1 Welding Inspector certification.
• Ability to travel extensively, including to CONUS, OCONUS and hostile zones.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screening, hold a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and a U.S. passport valid for at least two years.
