Senior Piping Designer (Onsite)

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join its Basra team on a rotational onsite basis. You will lead piping design activities across Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering phases for oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with international codes and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete piping design scope drawings for Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering.
• Maintain engineering integrity, quality assurance and document control for all piping deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and local graduates.
• Support field execution, conduct site visits, and produce as‑built documentation.
• Review vendor drawings for compatibility and resolve site queries.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 15+ years of onshore/offshore piping design experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Proven track record delivering Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering packages.
• Previous experience in Iraq or with major Middle‑East oil companies (e.g., ADNOC, ARAMCO, Qatar Energy, PDO, KOC) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects and adapt to a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Advanced 3D modeling with PDMS, E3D, SP3D or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Strong knowledge of piping design standards and international codes.
• Experience with EPCM project delivery and site survey activities.
