Senior Cost Accounting Specialist (Iraq)

About the role

Evyap is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accounting Specialist to lead end‑to‑end cost accounting activities across its operations in Iraq. The role focuses on ensuring accurate cost data, compliance with local regulations, and providing actionable insights to support financial decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full cost accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards.
• Execute monthly ERP processes, including reporting, follow‑up, and journal entries.
• Monitor raw material inventory movements and production cost entries across multiple locations.
• Perform stock reconciliations and analyse consumption variances.
• Prepare and review month‑end journal entries such as accruals, amortisations, and allocations.
• Analyse balance‑sheet reconciliations and explain variances.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules.
• Manage intercompany transactions and corporate cost allocations.
• Control material pricing and produce periodic cost analysis reports.
• Partner with Operations and G&A teams to ensure timely, accurate financial data.
• Provide insights on monthly cost and expense variances.
• Drive continuous improvement in cost accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production processes and costing structures.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliation, and audit processes.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; Kurdish or Turkish is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with Logo ERP and SAP is a plus).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
