Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead the financial management of a Rixos hotel, ensuring accurate cash flow, compliance with local fiscal regulations, and robust financial reporting. This senior position supports strategic decision‑making and drives financial performance across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and communicate cash‑flow statements, manage receivables, payables, and cash balances.
• Ensure compliance with all local laws, fiscal regulations, and obtain necessary permits for currency transfers.
• Safeguard leases, contracts, and legal documents affecting the hotel’s financial status.
• Review and sign off daily, monthly, and auditor reports, including operational trends and source‑of‑business analyses.
• Monitor revenues and expenses, record transactions according to international guidelines, and investigate budget variances.
• Assist capital‑planning by calculating returns on improvements, supporting bid processes, and evaluating work scopes.
• Maintain regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational tax compliance.
• Analyze financial data to advise management on achieving financial objectives and ensure timely bank reconciliations.
• Participate in recruiting and developing a diverse finance team.

Required profile

• Experience working in the Middle East, preferably Iraq.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field with a professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in finance, including preparation, review, analysis, and presentation of financial information.
