About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Mechanical Unit Technician to join its Iraq Business Unit. This full‑time, on‑site position in Basra focuses on Operations & Maintenance (O&M) services during the operation period of client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical units in accordance with customer operating procedures and maintenance plans.
• Carry out corrective maintenance activities following work instructions and HSE requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance work does not affect warranties and complies with safety standards.
• Support travel requirements as needed for project sites.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Unit Technician or similar role in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Ability to follow detailed operating procedures, maintenance plans and HSE guidelines.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Basra with occasional travel.
