Director of Operations – Logistics

About the role

The Director of Operations – Logistics will lead the launch and ongoing management of a two‑sided marketplace platform. This senior role combines market validation, day‑to‑day marketplace execution, and team leadership to ensure reliable service delivery and scalable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a pre‑launch field engagement team of four associates to conduct market research, build a qualified participant pipeline, and validate pricing and operational assumptions.
• Deliver structured outputs including a validated pricing model, operational risk assessment, liquidity target list, and go/adjust/no‑go recommendation for executives.
• Own daily marketplace operations: matching, dispatch, participant coordination, and exception handling through the admin layer.
• Manage both supply (service providers) and demand (clients) sides, ensuring coverage, reliability, and growth on active routes.
• Oversee participant onboarding, verification, trust‑building, and commercial relationship management.
• Develop and scale the operations team, write and maintain an operating runbook, and define operational KPIs such as time‑to‑match and service reliability.
• Collaborate with Product to surface friction points, influence the roadmap, and prioritize automation of manual processes.
• Run the cold‑start incentive program for early supply participants and support commercial strategy for expansion and new route assessment.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading operations in a marketplace or logistics environment.
• Strong background in market research, validation, and building participant pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute operational processes at scale.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with both supply‑side and demand‑side partners.
• Leadership experience building and developing cross‑functional teams.
