Civil Engineer – Onsite (Oil & Gas)

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its onsite team in Basra, Iraq, supporting oil and gas projects. The role involves supervising civil works, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and contributing to safe, on‑time, and cost‑effective project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise civil works such as foundations, concrete structures, earthworks, drainage, and structural elements.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Monitor site activities for HSE compliance, quality standards, and KBR procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, technical assessments, and progress reporting.
• Identify and resolve civil engineering issues during construction.
• Support commissioning, handover activities, and maintain accurate as‑built records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on civil engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas.
• Experience on brownfield and/or greenfield projects is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of international engineering codes (ACI, ASTM, BS, etc.).
