Senior Project Associate – Migration Governance

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to lead the Migration Governance component of its Mobility Pathways and Inclusion Division in Iraq. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and working closely with the Head of Division and the National Programme Officer, the incumbent will ensure effective implementation of project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Independently lead and coordinate project implementation, monitoring progress against work plans.
• Analyse implementation challenges and recommend adjustments to modalities and timelines.
• Research, compile and present data on national, regional and international migration developments.
• Coordinate financial, administrative and technical aspects in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
• Plan and deliver capacity‑building workshops for internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent IOM in meetings, conferences and liaison with authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and donors.
• Prepare correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing migration‑related projects or programmes.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to work independently under supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to coordinate with diverse partners and stakeholders.
