Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

The Senior Cost Accountant will lead cost analysis, budgeting and variance reporting across the organization. This role provides critical financial insights that support strategic decisions, improve profitability and drive operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, procedures and internal controls.
• Calculate and analyze product, project and operational costs, monitoring direct and indirect cost allocations.
• Conduct detailed cost variance analysis and prepare monthly cost and profitability reports.
• Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasts and monitor actual costs against budget.
• Review inventory valuation methods, reconcile balances and participate in physical counts and audits.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end cost accounting journal entries and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, warehouse and project teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Assist internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification preferred (CMA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 5–8 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, logistics or industrial sectors.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics or Odoo.
