Senior Accountant

About the role

A leading company in the pharmaceutical sector, recruited through MasterMinds, is looking for a Senior Accountant based in Baghdad (Hay Hitten). The working schedule is 8:30 to 4:30, six days a week, with a salary range of 2,400,000 to 2,700,000 IQD.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly reconciliations and close inventory transfers between warehouses.
• Manage sales representatives' accounts, advances and cash funds.
• Record prepaid expenses, accruals and fixed asset depreciation.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and review bank-related transactions.
• Calculate inventory costs and monitor import, customs, tax and foreign currency accounts.
• Reconcile control accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and Banking; business administration graduates may be considered with strong relevant accounting experience.
• At least 5 years in accounting, preferably with large, reputable companies.
• Experience in pharmaceutical distribution, trading, imports or inventory accounting is an advantage.
• Good command of English.

Required skills

• SAP is preferred; experience with Odoo or other established ERP systems is acceptable.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations and monthly closing.
