Programme Officer – Cash Based Interventions (CBI)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Programme Officer to lead cash‑based assistance programmes in Iraq. Reporting to the Head of the Transition and Recovery Division in Baghdad and supervised by the Senior Operations Coordinator in Erbil, the officer will develop and maintain IOM’s cash‑based assistance systems and portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Advise technical units, regional coordinators and divisions on integrating cash‑based interventions (CBIs) into operational plans and strategies.
• Establish and maintain a network of strategic partnerships with government agencies, UN partners, INGOs, research institutions and private sector entities.
• Use partnership information to select and design optimal cash‑based solutions for IOM case‑based interventions.
• Oversee day‑to‑day management of all cash and voucher transfers planned under IOM operations in Iraq.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in designing, implementing or managing cash‑based assistance programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Familiarity with the post‑conflict context of Iraq and the challenges faced by internally displaced persons.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including UN agencies, NGOs and government bodies.
