Open Rank Faculty – Clinical Psychology (Fall 2025 – Spring 2026)

About the role

The American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB) seeks an Open Rank Faculty member in Clinical Psychology to join its College of Arts and Sciences for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. The successful candidate will teach core liberal‑arts psychology courses and upper‑level courses for psychology majors, while contributing to research and departmental service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate core psychology courses and upper‑level major courses, with a focus on clinical psychology and counseling.
• Participate regularly in departmental meetings and university committees.
• Develop, update, and refine course materials and curricula in collaboration with faculty.
• Adhere to AUIB’s teaching guidelines, regulations, and academic policies.
• Maintain a professional, inclusive, and ethical learning environment.
• Engage in research projects, publish scholarly work, and present findings.
• Provide departmental service such as student advising, registration support, and seminar organization.

Required profile

• BA in Psychology (minimum).
• MA or MS in Psychology or Psychological Counseling.
• Doctorate (Ph.D. or D) in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Psychological Counseling.
• At least one year of teaching experience at the university level.
• Experience teaching or working in the Middle East is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical psychology or counseling.
