Metering Specialist – Gas Plant Operations

About the role

The Metering Specialist ensures accurate, reliable and compliant gas metering at the Khormor gas plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the role supports custody transfer, fiscal measurement and process monitoring in line with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Orifice, Ultrasonic, Turbine and Coriolis gas meters.
• Perform routine and periodic calibration of flow meters, transmitters, analyzers and related instrumentation.
• Validate metering systems against API, AGA and ISO standards and coordinate third‑party verification when required.
• Monitor metering data for accuracy, resolve discrepancies and ensure custody transfer measurements meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on metering equipment, flow computers, analyzers and control systems.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation including calibration records, schematics and SOPs.
• Support audits, inspections and continuous‑improvement studies to enhance measurement accuracy and system efficiency.
• Liaise with production, maintenance, engineering teams, vendors and contractors for technical support and project commissioning.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably in gas metering or flow measurement.
• Strong knowledge of safety management systems and relevant local safety legislation.
• In‑depth understanding of oil & gas production equipment, processes and utility systems.
• Proven ability to work with international standards (API, AGA, ISO) and to lead calibration activities.
