Human Resources Specialist

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Sulaymaniyah, part of the SABIS educational network, is looking for a Human Resources Specialist. The role supports the HR department by implementing HR policies, procedures and processes, and by carrying out recruitment and departmental administration tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Post vacancies online, screen and shortlist resumes, schedule interviews with line managers and document applicant feedback.
• Help with candidate sourcing, including job fairs and networking with university placement offices, and conduct interviews for local and expatriate non-native positions.
• Manage communications and paperwork for new hires, including letters of intent, contracts, application forms, confidentiality agreements and reference checks, and update the recruitment database.
• Keep employee files up to date and update the monthly recruitment report.
• Monitor leaves and attendance, follow up with staff and supervisors, and inform the School Director of pending issues.
• Organise travel, accommodation and hotel bookings for guests, and handle staff insurance requests.
• Manage the contract renewal cycle and the vacation planning process for administrative staff.
• Deliver the HR orientation presentation and manage onboarding activities such as the onboarding page and employee handbook.
• Ensure staff compliance with school rules and regulations through regular reports to the School Director.
• Schedule and run technical assessment tests for candidates and transfer staff, and monitor classroom observation forms and data entry.
• Generate and analyse SSMS reports, schedule HR roundtable meetings and share performance evaluation forms with the Regional HR Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent; HR focus is a plus.
• 1-3 years of experience.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behaviour and ethical conduct.
• Communication skills and ability to work within a team.
