Gynecologist – Preventive Screening

About the role

The Gynecologist will provide high‑quality preventive gynecological care at the NURA Preventive Screening Centre, focusing on early detection, risk assessment and health education for women.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret colposcopy reports and images, correlating findings with Pap smear, HPV testing and clinical history.
• Determine management plans, including follow‑up, repeat screening, biopsy, treatment or referral.
• Order and follow up on additional investigations such as histopathology, laboratory tests and ultrasound when indicated.
• Communicate results and recommendations sensitively to patients or via the nursing team.
• Provide feedback to the colposcopy nurse and maintain confidential, up‑to‑date records.

Required profile

• MBChB/MBBS degree recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education.
• Postgraduate specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Iraqi Board, Arab Board or equivalent).
• Valid registration with the Iraqi Medical Syndicate and a Ministry of Health practice licence.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in Kurdish and English; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Interpretation of histopathology reports.
• Use of ultrasound for gynecological assessment.
