Commercial Accounting Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Accounting Assistant Manager to lead accounting operations for the Sales Business Unit in Iraq. The role oversees accounts receivable, sales and discounts booking, inventory, settlements, accruals and ensures timely period closing in line with ACCBC controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, conduct aging analysis, approve reconciliations and drive collections to improve cash flow.
• Oversee accurate booking of sales, discounts and marketing expenditures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead finished‑goods inventory reporting and physical stock counts, resolving discrepancies.
• Review and approve operating expenditures, employee settlements and CAPEX, maintaining proper documentation.
• Coordinate distribution centre accounting, lead periodic closing activities and support audit and tax compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 8–10 years of accounting management experience, including commercial finance and AR/collections in a cash‑intensive environment.
• Proven experience leading finance teams covering DC accounting, AR and cashier functions.
• Prior engagement with internal/external auditors and tax consultants, preferably in the Iraq market.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
