Branch Manager – Insurance (Baghdad)

About the role

Dilnia Insurance Company is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead its Baghdad branch. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards, and representing the company to clients, partners, and government entities in the local market.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the Baghdad branch.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, partners, and government bodies.
• Coordinate with head‑office departments to maintain smooth operations.
• Supervise underwriting activities and ensure decisions align with company guidelines and risk appetite.
• Support preparation and review of quotations, renewals, policy documents, and special underwriting cases.
• Monitor portfolio quality and underwriting performance.
• Provide technical support to the sales team to drive growth and retain customers.
• Evaluate opportunities, risks, and policy structures for corporate and institutional clients.
• Lead and develop branch staff, fostering a professional and results‑oriented environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance or a related field.
• 6‑8 years of experience in the Iraqi insurance sector, with proven underwriting and operational expertise.
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment.
• Deep understanding of the Baghdad market and its key business sectors.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluency in Arabic and English; Kurdish is an advantage.
