Associate Director – Iraq & Levant

About the role

The Associate Director – Iraq & Levant will lead commercial growth across Iraq (approximately 80% of portfolio value) and distributor‑led markets in the Levant (Jordan, Lebanon, Syria). Reporting to the General Manager – Gulf, Iraq & Levant, the role combines strategic planning, P&L ownership, and stakeholder engagement to drive revenue, profitability and market share.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial strategy for Iraq, targeting institutional/public (Kimadia tenders) and private retail segments.
• Develop and align the business strategy for Iraq and Levant markets with regional objectives.
• Lead annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting and P&L management.
• Manage indirect distributor models in the Levant to maximize profitability while minimizing operational footprint.
• Monitor sales performance, implement corrective actions and ensure brand strategy execution.
• Partner with Marketing, Medical, Supply Chain, Finance and Regulatory teams.
• Oversee distributor relationships, credit limits, supply‑chain continuity and KPI‑based performance reviews.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and lead business reviews.
• Build high‑level relationships with the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Kimadia and key opinion leaders.

Required profile

• Proven leadership of country or regional commercial teams with full P&L responsibility.
• Experience driving market expansion and portfolio optimization in Iraq and Levant markets.
• Strong stakeholder management with ministries of health, tender authorities and key opinion leaders.
• Ability to coach and develop country managers, sales leaders and cross‑functional teams.
• Track record of achieving revenue, profitability and market‑share targets.
