Assistant Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager / Deputy Finance Manager supports the Finance Manager in overseeing financial planning, reporting, budgeting and day‑to‑day finance operations. The role ensures accuracy, integrity and efficiency of financial management while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, consolidating and monitoring annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Review financial statements, management reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules for accuracy.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, providing insights for strategic decisions.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and ensure timely reporting.
• Supervise senior accountants and finance team members, reviewing their work and ensuring compliance.
• Implement and continuously improve financial policies, procedures and reporting standards.
• Develop, streamline and maintain finance processes and internal controls.
• Support implementation, optimisation and maintenance of accounting and financial management systems.
• Coordinate with internal departments to collect financial information and resolve reporting requirements.
• Assist with audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Monitor compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements and company policies.
• Act as Finance Manager when required to ensure continuity of operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, preferably in corporate or multi‑entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash‑flow management and financial analysis.
• Experience supervising and mentoring finance teams.
• Hands‑on experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to improve finance systems, processes, internal controls and reporting frameworks.
