About the role

AUIB is seeking an experienced academic professional to join its law faculty as an Adjunct Faculty member specializing in Private International Law and Conflict of Laws, with a particular focus on Iraqi law and its interaction with international legal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and seminars on Private International Law and Conflict of Laws, emphasizing Iraqi legislation and judicial practice.
• Integrate Iraqi legal doctrine into comparative and cross‑border course content.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and reading lists that reflect both Iraqi and international perspectives.
• Guide students in analyzing the interaction between Iraqi law and global legal frameworks.
• Maintain high academic standards while ensuring relevance to Iraq’s legal education context.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in Private International Law and Conflict of Laws.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Iraqi legal system, legislation, and court practice.
• Ability to connect Iraqi law with comparative and international legal frameworks.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills in English.
• Experience teaching within higher‑education law programs.
