Accountant – Relocation to Erbil, Iraq

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Accountant to join our team in Erbil, Iraq. This full‑time, onsite position will manage financial records, support reporting cycles, and ensure accuracy across the general ledger, reconciliations, and closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and perform regular account reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring timely completion.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and assist with tax filings.
• Track budget versus actual performance.
• Provide documentation for internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and validate financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial principles and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Oracle Fusion (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, Conditional Formatting, Power Query).
