About the role
The Trade Finance LG Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of Letters of Guarantee (LG) for the Iraq branch. You will ensure accurate processing, compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, and provide support to trade finance operations.
Key responsibilities
- Issue, amend, renew, cancel and handle claims for all types of LGs.
- Verify customer requests and supporting documents for completeness before processing.
- Monitor expiry dates, coordinate renewals, releases and follow‑up on outstanding guarantees.
- Collaborate with branches, customers and internal departments on guarantee operations and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records, archive files and prepare periodic reports on issued, outstanding and expired guarantees.
- Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, internal procedures and AML requirements.
- Assist the trade finance team as needed and respond to customer and branch inquiries professionally.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- 1‑3 years of experience in banking operations, preferably with Letters of Guarantee or trade finance.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and within a team.
- Good communication and coordination skills with branches and customers.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with banking systems.
