Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (OpenStack)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in OpenStack to design, operate, and scale our private cloud environment. You will ensure high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot OpenStack components (Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Horizon, etc.).
• Manage compute, storage, and networking resources across the cloud.
• Perform capacity planning, scaling, and performance tuning.
• Monitor system metrics, respond to incidents, and participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations.
• Automate provisioning and management using Ansible, Terraform, or Heat.
• Administer user access, quotas, RBAC, and authentication (LDAP/Keystone).
• Apply security hardening, updates, and backup/disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with DevOps, networking, and application teams to support cloud‑hosted services.
• Document architecture, configurations, processes, and incident handling.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure or system administration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Fluent in English; Arabic or Kurdish a plus.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent.

• Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU, libvirt).
• Scripting languages (Bash, Python).
• Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Heat).
• Authentication and RBAC (LDAP, Keystone).
• Monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, ELK).
• High‑availability and fault‑tolerance design.
• Cloud security and compliance best practices.
• Container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Ceph storage integration.
• SDN/NFV concepts, VLAN, VXLAN.
