Senior Accountant – Sulaymaniya

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Sulaymaniya, Iraq. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions, maintain ledgers, and ensure accurate data entry.
• Organize and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Monitor cash flow, assist in budgeting and financial planning.
• Handle invoices, payments, receipts, and bank deposits.
• Conduct credit collection activities, including customer visits when required.
• Support tax audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Manage expense sheets and ensure timely payment transfers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 4–5 years of accounting experience.
• Valid Accounting Syndicate ID (mandatory).
• Fluent in English; Arabic is preferred.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
