QC Piping Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced QC Piping Engineer to join its Iraq Business Unit in Basra. The role is full‑time, onsite and focuses on quality control of piping systems for upstream and mid‑stream oil and gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair and rectify piping equipment in the West Qurna‑1 area.
• Ensure all work complies with site regulations and ATEX requirements where applicable.
• Interpret P&ID, single‑line and termination drawings, technical documentation and certification manuals.
• Prepare inspection reports and ITRs for equipment tested.
• Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of safety‑critical piping.

Required profile

• Proven experience in piping inspection, installation and quality control within the oil & gas sector.
• Ability to work onsite in Basra and adhere to local safety and regulatory standards.
• Strong technical documentation skills and attention to detail.
