About the role

Rixos Baghdad is looking for a highly organized and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement department. The role is central to sourcing quality goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost‑effective purchasing that aligns with the hotel’s operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy that delivers high‑quality goods and services at competitive prices.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring timely delivery.
• Oversee the full purchasing cycle from requisition to vendor payment and reconciliation.
• Negotiate prices and contract terms to achieve cost control while maintaining product quality.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and avoid overstocking.
• Conduct regular quality inspections on deliveries to ensure compliance with hotel standards.
• Collaborate with finance to manage the procurement budget and report variances.
• Stay informed on market trends and new suppliers to drive innovative, cost‑effective solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team.
• Implement sustainable procurement practices in line with ESG goals.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within hospitality.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor‑management skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
• Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
• Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices.
