Project Assistant – National Position

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the coordination and implementation of a national development project in Iraq, ensuring activities across governorates are harmonised and delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support overall coordination of project components, maintaining an integrated overview of progress and deliverables.
• Liaise with Field Coordinators to plan and prepare logistical aspects of field activities.
• Organise and follow‑up internal coordination meetings, action points and stakeholder workshops.
• Undertake field missions to monitor implementation, quality assurance and documentation of results.
• Provide cross‑cutting operational and administrative support, including procurement, logistics and compliance with donor requirements.
• Facilitate communication with key partners such as ministries, chambers of commerce, TVET centres, private sector actors and CSOs.
• Prepare access letters, movement authorisations, and assist with visa, residency and legal documentation for expatriate staff.
• Maintain records of permits, official correspondence and support registration and administrative clearances.

Required profile

• University degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum four years of experience in project support, coordination or implementation, preferably in multi‑location, donor‑funded projects.
• Experience working with international NGOs or similar organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Iraqi administrative procedures and established relationships with local authorities.
• Good understanding of monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems.
