Liaison and Operations Control Officer

About the role

The Liaison and Operations Control Officer supports the bank’s internal control functions by handling compliance inquiries, preparing regulatory reports, and ensuring that high‑risk customer cases are processed according to AML/CTF and KYC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on inquiries from Compliance, AML/CTF Reporting, and other internal control functions and provide accurate responses.
• Prepare and submit quarterly reports using approved templates.
• Review, sign and record observations on account opening forms within authority limits, and request missing information.
• Process high‑risk customer cases through the SIRON KYC system or other approved tools.
• Update FATCA forms containing U.S. indicia on an annual basis or as required.
• Immediately notify the manager of any legal violations or procedural breaches.
• Escalate suspicious transactions to the Investigations Unit following established procedures.
• Maintain records of alerts, reports and cases referred to the Investigations Team.
• Assess alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system for validity.
• Communicate with branches to obtain customer due‑diligence information related to alerts.
• Conduct field visits when requested by senior compliance staff.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, KYC and FATCA regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills to evaluate alerts and transaction data.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with branches and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel for field visits as needed.
