Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide day‑to‑day mechanical engineering support for site operations, ensuring safe and efficient performance across our assets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical engineering support for site operations, managing risks and addressing queries and minor modifications.
• Collaborate with Central Engineering to develop solutions that reduce risk and increase production capacity.
• Provide frontline support to Operations and Maintenance, escalating significant issues as needed.
• Monitor condition data, static and rotating equipment health, and KPI performance, initiating corrective actions.
• Participate in risk assessments, anomaly resolution, and start‑up readiness reviews.
• Support technical Management of Change (MoC), engineering queries, and project interfaces, including SOR and PIR development.
• Identify production vulnerabilities, drive efficiency improvements, and coach junior engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably with an IOC.
• Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent professional status).
• Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in asset engineering or operations support within production facilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and coaching abilities.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on results.
• Advanced IT proficiency, including Office suite, document management, CMMS and change‑management tools.
