Information Technology Support Engineer

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum’s South Basra Integrated Project is looking for an experienced Information Technology Support Engineer to join the IT department in Basra, Iraq. The role combines IT procurement responsibilities with hands‑on technical support for Windows and Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring smooth operation of the project’s IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage IT procurement and tendering documents such as market research, cost estimates, invitations to bid, technical specifications, BOQ and evaluation reports.
• Conduct market research, assist in cost estimating and participate in technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor proposals, provide technical clarifications and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Provide first‑ and second‑line support for Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers and standard business applications.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, Wi‑Fi) and support infrastructure projects, migrations and upgrades.
• Maintain procurement records, support framework agreements and coordinate with end users, procurement, project teams and vendors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in IT procurement and technical support.
• Proven experience preparing procurement documents and participating in technical bid evaluations.
• Ability to work independently, communicate with users and vendors, and follow company procurement procedures.
