Information Technology Governance Lead Associate

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Information Technology Governance Lead Associate to support governance, compliance, and oversight functions within the IT Division of a bank. The role ensures effective IT governance practices, regulatory compliance, policy management, audit follow‑up and project governance aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and continuous improvement of the bank’s IT governance framework.
• Develop, review and update IT governance policies, procedures, standards and related documentation.
• Monitor compliance with internal governance requirements, Central Bank of Iraq regulations and industry best practices.
• Track new regulatory directives, coordinate their implementation and ensure timely compliance.
• Document, follow up and report on internal and external audit observations, preparing responses and remediation updates.
• Facilitate coordination between IT teams, auditors and stakeholders to close audit findings.
• Participate in the development and enhancement of governance management systems, including ESG standards for banks.
• Maintain and update IT Governance Manuals and IT Steering Committee Charters.
• Collect, analyse and report governance‑related data, KPIs and maturity assessments.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to raise governance maturity levels.
• Support IT project governance, prepare steering committee documentation, reports and presentations, and track action items.
