GPS & Tracking Specialist

About the role

The GPS & Tracking Specialist is responsible for managing and operating the organization’s GPS tracking systems, ensuring accurate real‑time monitoring of vehicles and assets. This role involves device installation, configuration, data analysis and supporting operational teams with actionable tracking insights.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain GPS tracking platforms to provide reliable real‑time vehicle and asset location data.
• Install, configure, and commission GPS tracking devices and associated hardware.
• Monitor tracking data, geofences, routes and alerts, ensuring system accuracy and reliability.
• Troubleshoot GPS devices, SIM/GPRS connectivity issues and coordinate repairs or replacements.
• Generate and deliver reports on trips, mileage, idling, speed, and geofence violations.
• Configure geofences, alerts and system rules based on operational needs.
• Maintain inventory of GPS devices, SIM cards and installation records.
• Manage user accounts, roles and access permissions on the tracking platform.
• Collaborate with vendors for support, updates and enhancements.
• Document installations, configurations and procedures while ensuring compliance with IT and data‑privacy policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in IT, electronics, communications or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience with GPS tracking systems, fleet tracking or related technologies.
• Strong knowledge of GPS tracking platforms and fleet‑management concepts.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
