GIS Specialist – Midstream Operations

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist to support its midstream operations in Basra, Iraq. The role involves using advanced GIS tools to manage spatial data, support customers, and drive analytical insights for pipeline and asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise the ArcGIS platform to analyse and visualise operational data.
• Maintain and update spatial databases, tailoring them to midstream reporting requirements and customer requests.
• Conduct field surveys and provide GIS data for pipeline operation and asset management modules.
• Develop proprietary software and workflow automation to assess pipeline risk and identify potential corrosion zones.
• Support upstream business development teams with well‑location analysis and big‑data analytics of revenue and tank service metrics.
• Participate in proposals and account‑management meetings with high‑value customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geoscience, Geospatial Science, GIS, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS, spatial database management, or related disciplines.
• Strong understanding of NACE corrosion standards and midstream oil‑and‑gas operations.
