Control System Engineer – Basra, Iraq

About the role

Wood is recruiting a Control System Engineer for its Iraq Business Unit in Basra. The role focuses on designing, configuring, testing and commissioning control and automation systems for oil and gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop control logic according to IEC 61131‑3 standards.
• Perform system integration testing and conduct FAT/SAT.
• Configure control interfaces such as Modbus, Profibus and HART.
• Support lifecycle maintenance, upgrades and alarm rationalisation.
• Participate in tuning activities to optimise system performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in control and automation engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience with PCS and SIS platforms, HMI and historian integration.

Required skills

• IEC 61131‑3 programming.
• Modbus, Profibus and HART communication protocols.
• PCS and SIS platform knowledge.
• HMI and historian integration.
