Construction Lead – Marine Works (6-month contract)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Construction Lead to manage marine‑related construction activities for an onshore/near‑shore oil & gas facility in Basra, Iraq. This six‑month fixed‑term position involves planning, supervising and executing works such as piling, quay walls, jetties and other marine infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction plans for marine works, ensuring alignment with project schedules and safety standards.
• Supervise on‑site crews and subcontractors during piling, quay wall, jetty and causeway installation.
• Coordinate the delivery and installation of marine equipment and near‑shore civil works.
• Monitor progress, quality and cost performance, reporting deviations to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements and Wood’s health, safety and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading marine construction projects in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of offshore/near‑shore civil works, piling techniques and marine infrastructure.
• Ability to work on‑site in challenging environments and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
