Commis I – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic kitchen professional to join our culinary team as a Commis I. In this entry‑level position you will support the Chef de Partie and contribute to the daily preparation of high‑quality dishes while maintaining strict hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare and maintain mise‑en‑place across various sections of the main kitchen and satellite stations.
• Follow menu specifications and cooking instructions provided by senior chefs.
• Keep the work area clean and hygienic in accordance with hotel standards.
• Control food stock levels and monitor food cost within your section.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure cleanliness, minimise waste, and uphold cost control.
• Stay updated on new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.

Required profile

• Completed a professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef training course.
• Previous experience in reputable culinary establishments.
• Strong culinary fundamentals and good English communication skills.
• Proven ability in food preparation, presentation, and preservation.
