Civil Engineer – Onsite, Erbil

About the role

Bureau Veritas Iraq is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its on‑site team in Erbil. The role involves providing technical oversight for civil, structural, architectural and finishing works on large‑scale infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil and structural works, ensuring compliance with IFC drawings, specifications, codes and contractual requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor workmanship, quality, progress and safety.
• Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, calculations, method statements, material submittals and ITPs.
• Coordinate civil and architectural activities with structural, MEP and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence and quality standards.
• Validate progress reports, quantities and payment applications before certification.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and issue NCRs or technical instructions as needed.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants and contractors to resolve issues.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and prepare regular technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of national and international civil/structural design codes and standards.
• Proven experience in design review, value engineering and constructability analysis.
• Familiarity with procurement and tender processes for large infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
