Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will work closely with senior management to develop and execute financial strategies for the organisation. You will act as a business partner, handling large data sets, providing decision‑making support and delivering regular financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all financial aspects of assigned legal entities and implement internal controls across locations.
• Support Senior Finance Management in delivering a Finance Centre of Excellence.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts highlighting key business drivers.
• Prepare statutory accounts for the group and subsidiaries in line with accounting principles.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS updates and promote regulatory awareness within the finance team.
• Lead financial meetings, complete accounting and forecasting tasks, and deliver reports and metrics to leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience (ACCA, ACA, CPA, FCCA, CIMA).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or a related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in oil refinery, power plant or oil trading sectors.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS/IAS.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using SAP (highly advantageous).
• Expertise in IFRS and IAS standards.
