Welder – Industrial Fabrication (Balad, Iraq)

About the role

This position is located in Balad, Iraq. Under the supervision of the Welder Lead, the Welder fabricates and repairs metal components for machine parts, plant equipment, mobile homes, motors and generators using a variety of welding techniques. The role requires adherence to blueprints, layouts and work orders while maintaining safety and certification standards.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair metal components according to blueprints, layouts or work orders using brazing, arc and gas welding equipment.
• Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting, grinding, positioning and clamping components, and locate/repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads.
• Pass employer performance tests and maintain required AWS Welding Code Certifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, valid US driver’s license, US passport and US citizenship.
• Minimum three years of experience in various welding types and certified welder status.
• Ability to obtain and maintain AWS Welding Code Certifications as required.
• Intermediate English communication skills and basic proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multi‑national staff and military officers.
