Weapons Technician – MK44/MSI Seahawk Systems

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Weapons Technician to support the MSI Seahawk Deck Gun System and 30mm MK44 cannon for the Iraqi Navy. The role is based at the Iraq Naval Base in Umm Qasr and follows a 90/30 rotation (90 days on‑site, 30 days off).

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on subject‑matter expertise for the 30mm MK44 and MSI‑DS Seahawk weapons systems on Iraqi naval vessels.
• Conduct training in operation, maintenance, and repair of the deck gun systems.
• Collaborate with Amentum in‑country team, port engineers, and Iraqi Navy personnel to deliver timely technical support.
• Act as technical advisor/consultant, supporting planning, workload execution, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive inputs for the Monthly Status Report.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years experience with weapons systems, focusing on small arms and deck‑gun maintenance/repair.
• Working knowledge of MSI weapons components and support systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, strong verbal and written communication in English.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain country clearance and base pass, and an active passport valid for at least two years after arrival.
• Willingness to travel within CONUS and OCONUS.
