Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering

About the role

AUIB seeks a Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering to deliver high‑quality undergraduate instruction, lead hands‑on laboratory sessions, and mentor first‑year engineering students. This fixed‑term, teaching‑intensive appointment focuses on introducing engineering thinking, design, and problem‑solving while supporting core EE courses and curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Introduction to Engineering, delivering lectures, design activities, and project‑based modules for first‑year students.
• Provide instruction in core Electrical Engineering subjects such as Circuits, Digital Logic Design, Electronics, Signals and Systems, Electromagnetics, or Microprocessors.
• Lead laboratory sessions and supervise team‑based design and capstone projects using industry‑standard hardware and simulation tools.
• Mentor and advise students, offering academic guidance and career support to improve retention and success.
• Contribute to curriculum improvement, ABET accreditation activities, and departmental service, including student chapter advising.

Required profile

• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching with the ability to engage first‑year students.
• Strong command of core electrical engineering subjects and the ability to teach across multiple foundational areas.
• Hands‑on, project‑based mindset with experience integrating hardware and simulation tools into coursework.
• Commitment to student mentorship and continuous curriculum enhancement.
