About the role
DAR AL-AMAN Insurance Co., part of the LIBANO-SUISSE Group, is hiring a full-time, on-site Underwriter based in Baghdad Governorate, Iraq. The role reviews insurance applications, assesses risk profiles and sets coverage terms, conditions and premiums in line with company policies.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze financial and risk-related information and consult internal guidelines
- Collaborate with sales and claims teams to make balanced decisions
- Prepare underwriting reports and maintain accurate records
- Monitor portfolio performance and contribute to product and policy improvement
- Follow regulatory and compliance standards and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, business administration, economics or a related field (preferred)
- Ability to work full time on site in Baghdad Governorate, Iraq
- Prior underwriting or insurance industry experience is an advantage
Required skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for risk assessment
- Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices and regulatory frameworks, preferably in the local market
- Proficiency with office software and insurance-related systems for data entry, analysis and reporting
