Team Leader Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum is looking for an experienced Team Leader Mechanical Engineer to join the South Basra Integrated Project (SBIPRO) in Basra, Iraq. The role works on a rotation basis with the Production Department and is responsible for directing all mechanical maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability, reliability and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of mechanical maintenance strategies for production facilities.
• Oversee preventive, corrective, predictive and shutdown maintenance of static and rotating equipment.
• Produce equipment reliability reports, root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) reports and KPI dashboards (MTBF, MTTR, availability).
• Manage contractor performance, budget utilization and cost forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, QA/QC and asset integrity standards, including API, ASME and OEM requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 12–15 years of mechanical maintenance experience in Oil & Gas or heavy industry.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
• Strong safety awareness and high‑level English communication skills.
