Team Leader Instrument and Control Engineer

About the role

Geo-Jade Petroleum is looking for an experienced Team Leader Instrument and Control Engineer to join the Production Department on a rotation basis in Basra, Iraq. The role focuses on planning, executing, and supervising all instrument and control maintenance activities to ensure reliable and safe plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop short‑, medium‑ and long‑term instrument and control maintenance plans, including shutdown schedules.
• Provide expert consultancy on instrumentation and control engineering for projects and plant modifications.
• Conduct technical studies and maintenance activities to support safe, economic decisions.
• Monitor execution of work to maintain equipment availability and reliability.
• Assist in preparing annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets for instrument and control engineering.
• Ensure compliance with Company HSE policies, SOPs, and industry standards.
• Supervise and mentor Iraqi national staff through on‑the‑job training programs.
• Manage the instrument and control engineering team, enforcing QA/QC standards and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of solid Oil & Gas experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
• Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of HSE policies, QA/QC standards, and industry best practices.
• Ability to work on a rotation basis in a challenging environment.
• Excellent communication skills for training and consultancy.
