Senior Strategic Technical Advisor – Digital Transformation

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Senior Strategic Technical Advisor to lead digital transformation initiatives within its Social Protection unit for Iraq. This remote consultancy will involve periodic travel to Iraq and supports WFP’s mission to enhance food security and resilience through innovative technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical guidance on digital transformation projects aligned with WFP’s social protection objectives.
• Design, coordinate, and monitor implementation of digital tools and platforms across the Iraq Country Office.
• Collaborate with WFP country and regional teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and recommendations for senior management.
• Support capacity building and knowledge transfer to local staff.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (minimum 8 years) in digital transformation, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to work remotely while managing on‑site engagements and travel.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills
