Senior Program Officer

About the role

IREX is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead coordination and implementation of its Iraq Programs portfolio. This remote‑eligible position reports to the Country Representative and supports program quality, reporting, and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead coordination and implementation of assigned program activities in Iraq, including planning logistics for trainings, meetings, workshops, and events.
• Develop, monitor, and update workplans, timelines, activity trackers, and deliverables.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities, including data collection, analysis, and documentation.
• Prepare internal and external reports, impact stories, presentations, and other program materials.
• Serve as liaison with government stakeholders, partners, participants, and beneficiaries, and coordinate communication among IREX headquarters, field teams, and local partners.
• Support budget tracking, procurement, vendor management, payment documentation, and sub‑award compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience coordinating donor‑funded development programs, trainings, or partnerships in Iraq.
• Native or near‑native fluency in Arabic and Kurdish; strong English proficiency preferred.
• Valid unrestricted work authorization in Iraq.

Required skills

• Strong program management, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
