Senior Accountant (Accounts Receivable – Real Estate Development)

About the role

We are looking for a senior accountant to lead the accounts receivable function for our real‑estate development projects. The role combines full‑cycle AR management with project‑based accounting, supporting strategic decisions from land acquisition to sale or lease.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, payment application and collection for development projects.
• Maintain project‑based accounting records, track job costs and ensure budget compliance.
• Prepare complex billing statements for property, land sales or leases and manage overdue collections.
• Oversee the general ledger, perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile AR, retainage and capital accounts.
• Produce financial statements, balance sheets, cash‑flow reports and detailed aging analyses per project.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals and audit documentation.
• Act as primary contact for internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of real‑estate accounting principles such as revenue recognition, job costing and project‑based reporting.
• Proficiency with advanced accounting/ERP systems, preferably Microsoft 365 Dynamic.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modeling).
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
