Scrum Master for GIS Engineering Team

About the role

The GIS Department needs a Scrum Master to bring predictable, transparent delivery to a complex, multi‑team environment supporting the QiMAP platform and the Iraq Post digital suite. You will run Scrum ceremonies, protect the team from disruptions, and make progress visible to internal and client stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate all Scrum events – sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives – for the GIS engineering team.
• Partner with the Product Owner to keep a refined, bilingual‑aware backlog with clear acceptance criteria, including Arabic/RTL and accessibility requirements.
• Coordinate cross‑repository delivery, aligning admin, API, mini‑app and infrastructure changes across DEV, UAT and PROD.
• Run the production release rhythm for QiMAP, handling promotion windows, client sign‑offs, post‑deploy watches and follow‑up of production findings.
• Plan around fixed‑date client demonstrations, building release runways, tracking blocking QA findings and driving them to closure.
• Identify, make visible and remove impediments such as blocked PRs, environment access issues, cross‑team dependencies and unclear requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years as a Scrum Master (or 2+ years Scrum Master plus 2+ years in software delivery).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I or equivalent).
• Fluency in Arabic and strong working English.

Required skills

• Delivery tooling: Jira or Azure Boards, GitHub‑based PR workflows, CI/CD status boards.
• Technical literacy in APIs, web front‑ends, GIS/mapping and cloud deployments (AWS).
• Strong facilitation and conflict‑resolution abilities for mixed technical and non‑technical audiences.
