Job description
About the role
Seefar is looking for a Referral Coordination Officer for its RADIM II project, which raises awareness of the dangers of irregular migration and supports at-risk youth across six governorates in Iraq. The officer connects young people with local service providers and with Seefar's legal migration pathway service, Dalil, ensuring support meets Seefar's standards. This is a remote, part-time assignment from mid-November 2026 to mid-April 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Receive referrals from counsellors, prioritise cases and plan the monthly call schedule.
- Contact each young person to check whether their circumstances have changed and to understand their current needs and aspirations.
- Explain the support options available and help them choose between a local service provider and a legal migration pathway.
- Obtain informed consent and refer 100 young people to the chosen provider in their governorate or to Seefar's legal migration expert.
- Follow up to confirm whether they accessed the service and identify any safeguarding concerns in line with Seefar's procedures.
- Keep accurate records of contacts and referral outcomes until each case is closed, and attend weekly counselling status meetings and partner organisation reviews.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, development studies or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least two years' experience in case management, referrals, community outreach or similar roles, ideally with young people.
- Good knowledge of local services, NGOs and support organisations in the programme governorates.
- Fluency in Arabic and English; resides in one of the project governorates.
- Desirable: experience in migration, livelihoods, protection or youth programmes, and experience supporting young people's psychosocial wellbeing.
Required skills
- Strong communication skills, able to build trust quickly over the phone and hold sensitive conversations.
- Organisational skills to manage a caseload and meet monthly referral targets.
- Accurate record-keeping and use of databases or spreadsheets to track calls and referral status.
- Understanding of confidentiality, informed consent and safeguarding principles.
What we offer
- Pay of GBP 800 (approx. USD 1,000) per month for a maximum of five months, with about 20 hours per week expected.
- Workload varies from month to month depending on the number of referrals.
Candidates apply through the application form on or before 7 November 2026; Seefar reserves the right to negotiate scope and terms before contract signing.
