Purchasing Manager

About the role

Rixos Baghdad is looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement function. The role involves overseeing the sourcing of goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost‑effective purchasing aligned with hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy that delivers high‑quality goods and services at competitive prices.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring timely deliveries.
• Oversee the full purchasing cycle from requisition to purchase order issuance, vendor payment and reconciliation.
• Negotiate prices and contract terms to achieve cost control while maintaining product quality.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstocking, supporting smooth hotel operations.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure purchased items meet hotel standards.
• Collaborate with finance to manage the procurement budget and report variances.
• Stay informed on market trends and new suppliers to drive innovative and efficient sourcing.
• Lead, mentor and develop the purchasing team.
• Implement sustainable procurement practices in line with ESG goals.

Required profile

• Highly organized and strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities.
• Proven experience in hotel or hospitality procurement.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier‑management skills.
• Ability to work closely with finance and other operational departments.
• Commitment to quality, cost control and sustainability.
